A technical meeting of the textile and leather standards development committee of the Authority of Standard and Quality was held to review and finalize several draft technical standards in the technical conference hall of the Authority.

Mawlawi Mohammad Hanif, Head of National Standards Development and Promotion and Building Codes, along with the committee chair and relevant technical members, attended the session.

During the meeting, the standard for specifications of soft window covering fabrics for household use, along with three related testing methods, was approved. Additionally, the draft standard for performance specifications of water-resistant rainwear fabrics and multi-purpose waterproof outer garments, as well as the bursting strength test method for textiles, were discussed in detail.

Furthermore, the committee members held technical discussions on the specification standards for high-stretch woven fabrics (warp and weft) used in clothing.

By developing and implementing such standards, the Authority of Standard and Quality is taking effective steps toward improving the quality of textile and leather products, supporting domestic industries, and aligning national products with international standards.
