Standard and Quality Authority (ASQA) Monitors Iron Smelting Sector in Kabul Province
Based on the directive of the esteemed Economic Commission of the Prime Minister's Office, a joint monitoring committee initiated the process of evaluating and reviewing the implementation of internal standards in the iron products manufacturing sector in Kabul City and Districts.
This committee, led by the Standard and Quality Authority and with the presence of representatives from the following departments, jointly carried out its activities:
• Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock
• Ministry of Industry and Commerce
• Ministry of Public Health
• National Environmental Protection Agency
• Ministry of Urban Development and Housing
• Kabul Municipality
• Chamber of Industries and Mines
• General Directorate of Monitoring and Follow-up on Decrees and Edicts
During this supervision, the aforementioned delegation, by visiting the 14 iron smelting factories, comprehensively examined the level of standard implementation, the quality of production, and other related technical matters.
The main goal of this action has been stated as strengthening domestic production, preventing the manufacture of substandard products, and supporting high-quality infrastructure in the country.
The ASQA emphasizes that the monitoring process will continue on an ongoing basis and in close coordination with the responsible institutions to ensure market transparency and quality in domestic industries.
